iron lady
Unyielding female leader
Iron lady describes a powerful, determined woman in a position of authority—especially one perceived as uncompromising or tough.
The phrase became famous as a nickname for British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, coined by Soviet journalists in 1976.
It now applies more broadly to any formidable female leader: She earned a reputation as the iron lady of corporate law.
