satanism
Worship of Lucifer
Satanism is the worship or veneration of Satan, or more broadly, any belief system that embraces Satan as a symbol.
Some forms involve literal devil worship; others treat Satan as a metaphor for individualism, rebellion against authority, or rejection of religious orthodoxy.
The term is often used loosely to describe anything perceived as anti-Christian or darkly transgressive: The pastor warned that heavy metal music promoted satanism. (Capitalized Satanism refers to organized religious movements.)
