intrapsychic
Inside the psyche
Intrapsychic describes processes occurring within the mind—conflicts, drives, and mechanisms that operate inside a single psyche rather than between people.
The term belongs primarily to psychoanalytic and clinical psychology: intrapsychic conflict between desire and guilt, intrapsychic defenses.
It contrasts with interpersonal, which concerns relationships between individuals.
