improv theater
Unscripted stage comedy
Improv theater, also called improvisational theater, is a form of live performance in which actors create scenes, characters, and dialogue spontaneously without a script.
Performers typically build on suggestions from the audience or each other, often following the principle of "yes, and"—accepting what another actor establishes and adding to it.
The form ranges from short-form games popularized by shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? to long-form narratives that unfold over an entire performance.
We took an improv theater class to get more comfortable with public speaking.
