hypodermics
Needles that pierce
Hypodermics are syringes designed to inject substances beneath the skin, or the needles attached to them.
The term appears in medical contexts and in discussions of drug use: used hypodermics littered the alley.
A hypodermic can also be an injection itself: The nurse prepared the hypodermic.
