hypersexualisation

Overemphasis on sexuality

Hypersexualisation is the process of making something excessively sexual, or the state of being made so.

The term typically describes how media, advertising, or culture impose adult sexuality onto children, especially girls: the hypersexualisation of young pop stars, concerns about hypersexualisation in children's clothing.

It can also describe the reduction of any person or group to sexual objects.

Also spelled hypersexualization.
