Scorching air currents
Hot winds are warm or scorching air currents, often seasonal and regionally named: the Santa Ana winds of Southern California, the sirocco of the Mediterranean, the harmattan of West Africa.
They typically blow from desert or arid regions, bringing dry heat, low humidity, and sometimes dust.
Hot winds can damage crops, spread wildfires, and affect mood: The hot winds made everyone irritable.
