hot press
Glossy finish machine
A hot press is a machine that applies heat and pressure simultaneously, used in manufacturing to bond materials, shape wood products, or create smooth finishes on paper and textiles.
In bookbinding and papermaking, hot-pressed paper has an exceptionally smooth surface from being pressed between heated plates.
As a verb, to hot press is to treat material this way: The veneer was hot pressed onto the substrate.
