A historical epic is a large-scale narrative—typically a film or novel—set against a backdrop of significant historical events or periods.
These works blend fictional characters and storylines with real historical figures and settings, emphasizing spectacle, sweep, and dramatic scope.
Ben-Hur and Lawrence of Arabia are classic historical epics.
