high king
King of kings
A high king is a king who rules over other kings—a supreme monarch in a hierarchy of rulers.
The term appears most often in Celtic and medieval contexts, where regional kings owed allegiance to an overking: the High King of Ireland, the high king of the Britons.
In fantasy literature, high king often designates the ultimate sovereign of a realm.
