high-risers

Towers piercing skylines

High-risers are tall buildings, typically residential towers or office blocks with many floors.

The term is most common in British English, where Americans would more often say high-rises: The skyline filled with high-risers over the past decade.

Less commonly, high-risers are socks or pants with a high waistline.
