A hay rack is a frame or slatted container for holding hay, allowing livestock to feed without scattering or trampling the fodder.
Hay racks mount on walls in stables or stand in pastures.
The term also refers to a flat wagon frame with slatted sides used for hauling hay: We loaded the hay rack after the morning's cutting.
