hand slap
Open-fingered smack
A hand slap is a light strike with the open palm, often playful or ceremonial rather than aggressive.
It includes celebratory gestures like high fives and the slapping of hands in greeting or congratulation.
A hand slap can also be mild punishment or rebuke: She gave his wrist a hand slap for reaching into the cookie jar.
Figuratively, a slap on the wrist is a trivially light penalty.
