Diddy Kong
Small ape companion
Diddy Kong is a video game character in Nintendo's Donkey Kong franchise—a small chimpanzee in a red cap who serves as Donkey Kong's sidekick and nephew.
First appearing in *Donkey Kong Country* (1994), he has since starred in his own games, most notably *Diddy Kong Racing*.
The name plays on "dinky," suggesting his small stature relative to the larger ape.
