spaced

Intervals between elements

Spaced describes things arranged with gaps or intervals between them, whether physical objects evenly spaced fence posts or events in time spaced appointments throughout the day.

When applied to people, spaced or spaced out suggests a dazed, disconnected mental state, often from fatigue, drugs, or simple distraction: I was so spaced out I missed my exit.

The term captures both deliberate arrangement and mental absence.
