gulden
Old Netherlands money
A gulden is a gold or silver coin that served as currency in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and other European countries from the medieval period through the 20th century.
The Dutch gulden, also called the florin, remained in use until the euro replaced it in 2002.
The word comes from German for "golden."
