green sea turtles
Shelled marine crawlers
Green sea turtles are large marine reptiles found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide.
Named for the greenish color of their fat (not their shells), they're the only sea turtles that are primarily herbivorous as adults, grazing on seagrass and algae.
They can weigh over 300 pounds and migrate thousands of miles between feeding grounds and nesting beaches.
