feral pigs
Untamed rooting hogs
Feral pigs are domestic swine that have escaped or been released into the wild and reverted to an undomesticated state, or their descendants.
They're considered invasive pests in much of the United States, where they destroy crops, damage ecosystems, and reproduce rapidly.
Feral pigs are aggressive and can be dangerous to humans and livestock.
Hunting them is largely unregulated in affected areas: Texas has a serious feral pig problem.
