Grass shrimp are small, largely transparent shrimp found in shallow coastal waters, estuaries, and tidal marshes, often among seagrass beds—hence the name.
They rarely exceed two inches and serve as important forage for fish and wading birds.
Anglers use them as live bait: We caught some grass shrimp for the fishing trip.
