granges

Farmers' meeting halls

Granges is the plural of grange, a farm with its associated buildings, especially a large or prosperous one.

In American usage, Grange refers to the Patrons of Husbandry, a fraternal organization founded in 1867 to support farmers' interests, and to its local chapters: The town's old Grange hall still hosts community events.
