goutweed

Aggressive spreading groundcover

Goutweed is a perennial plant with white flower clusters, native to Europe and invasive in North America.

It spreads aggressively through underground stems, making it notoriously difficult to eradicate from gardens.

Historically used as a folk remedy for gout, hence the name: The previous owners planted goutweed, and now it's taken over the whole yard.
