googling

Online information seeking

Googling is using the Google search engine to look something up on the internet.

Though Google is a trademark, the verb has become so common that it often refers to any internet search, regardless of which search engine is used: I googled her name and found her LinkedIn profile.

The gerund form appears frequently as a noun: A little googling turned up the answer. (Capitalized Google is the company and search engine.)
