goatskins
Wine vessel material
Goatskins are the hides of goats, used for leather goods, parchment, and containers.
Historically, goatskins served as water vessels and wineskins: They carried water in goatskins across the desert.
The leather remains valued for gloves, bookbindings, and certain drums.
A goatskin is also a garment or rug made from such hide.
