goaltenders
Hockey's last defenders
Goaltenders are players stationed in front of the goal to prevent scoring, primarily in hockey and lacrosse.
The term is most common in ice hockey, where the goaltender (or goalie) guards the net and is the only player allowed to use hands to stop the puck.
The goaltenders faced over thirty shots each.
