A gallimaufry is a jumbled mixture or hodgepodge of things—originally a stew made from whatever scraps were available, now usually describing any chaotic assortment: The attic contained a gallimaufry of old furniture, forgotten toys, and dusty photographs.
The word is literary and slightly archaic, chosen when you want something more colorful than "mishmash."
