gale warning
High wind advisory
A gale warning is an official alert issued by meteorological services when winds of 34 to 47 knots (roughly 39 to 54 mph) are expected.
Mariners and coastal residents use these warnings to prepare for dangerous conditions at sea or along shorelines: The harbor master posted a gale warning and advised all boats to stay in port.
