funk-metal
Slapping bass distortion
Funk-metal is a style of rock music blending heavy metal's distorted guitars and aggressive sound with funk's syncopated rhythms, slap bass, and groove-oriented feel.
The genre emerged in the late 1980s with bands like Living Colour, Faith No More, and Red Hot Chili Peppers: Their funk-metal sound dominated alternative radio in the early nineties.
