Body count is the total number of people killed, originally military jargon for enemy deaths: The official body count from the airstrike remains disputed.
The term extends to any death toll from disasters or violence.
In slang, body count means the number of sexual partners someone has had: What's your body count?
This usage treats conquests like casualties.
