Gridiron backfield player
A full-back is a defensive player in football codes.
In soccer and rugby, full-backs play near the sides of the field, defending against wide attacks and often joining offensive plays.
In American football, the fullback lines up in the backfield, primarily blocking for the halfback or carrying the ball in short-yardage situations.
