fuel additives
Tank performance boosters
Fuel additives are chemical compounds mixed into gasoline, diesel, or other fuels to improve performance or protect engines.
Common types include detergents that clean fuel injectors, stabilizers that prevent degradation during storage, and octane boosters that reduce engine knock.
Some additives are blended at the refinery; others are sold separately for consumers to add themselves: I put some fuel additive in the tank to clean the injectors.
