flying monkeys
Winged simian servants
Flying monkeys are people who do someone else's bidding, especially when that person is manipulative or abusive.
The term comes from *The Wizard of Oz*, where the Wicked Witch dispatches winged monkeys to carry out her schemes.
In psychology, it describes enablers who harass, spy on, or spread rumors on behalf of a narcissist: Her ex recruited flying monkeys to monitor her social media.
The monkeys may not recognize they're being used.
