floppy drives
Obsolete storage devices
Floppy drives are computer hardware that reads and writes data to floppy disks—thin, flexible magnetic storage media housed in square plastic cases.
Standard through the 1980s and 1990s, they've been almost entirely replaced by USB drives and cloud storage.
The "save" icon in many programs still depicts a floppy disk, a skeuomorph now meaningless to younger users.
