floaties

Inflatable arm bands

Floaties are inflatable armbands worn by children learning to swim, providing buoyancy to keep them afloat: Don't forget your floaties before you get in the pool.

The term can extend to any small flotation device.

Informally, floaties also describes the bits of debris or sediment floating in a liquid: There are floaties in my water.
