fixed mindset

Belief talents unchangeable

A fixed mindset is the belief that intelligence, talent, and abilities are static traits that cannot be significantly developed through effort or learning.

People with a fixed mindset tend to avoid challenges, give up easily when frustrated, and view failure as proof of their limitations rather than as an opportunity for growth.

The term was popularized by psychologist Carol Dweck and is contrasted with a growth mindset, which embraces effort and sees ability as something that can be cultivated.
