close-minded

Unwilling to reconsider

Close-minded describes someone unwilling to consider new ideas or different perspectives.

A close-minded person dismisses unfamiliar viewpoints without examination: He's too close-minded to even listen to the proposal.

The term carries negative connotations—nobody self-identifies as close-minded.

Also spelled closed-minded, which some consider more grammatically correct.
