open mind

Willingness to consider

An open mind is a willingness to consider new ideas, perspectives, or possibilities without prejudging them.

To keep an open mind is to suspend judgment until you've heard the evidence.

The phrase often implies receptiveness that someone might otherwise lack: Try to approach it with an open mind.

Having an open mind doesn't mean accepting everything—just being willing to hear it out.
