fivestones
Ancient catching game
Fivestones is a children's game in which small objects—traditionally pebbles or knucklebones, now often small metal or plastic pieces—are tossed and caught on the back of the hand.
The game requires picking up stones from the ground while one is in the air.
Also called jacks or knucklebones: We played fivestones in the schoolyard.
