first molar
Six-year tooth typically
The first molar is one of the large, flat-topped teeth used for grinding food, located behind the premolars.
Humans have four first molars—one in each quadrant of the mouth.
These are typically the first permanent molars to emerge, appearing around age six, which is why dentists sometimes call them "six-year molars."
