Controlling flames mentally
Firebending is a fictional martial art from the animated series *Avatar: The Last Airbender* in which practitioners generate and control fire through disciplined movement and breath.
The term extends to any of the four elemental disciplines in that universe—waterbending, earthbending, airbending—each associated with a different culture.
Fans use the terms playfully: I wish I could firebend my way through this cold.
