Fuel opening cover
A filler cap is a removable cover for an opening where liquid is added to a tank or reservoir.
Most commonly, it's the cap on a vehicle's fuel tank: I forgot to replace the filler cap after filling up.
The term also applies to caps on radiators, oil reservoirs, and other containers designed for periodic refilling.
