fellowships

Funded research positions

Fellowships are associations of people sharing interests or activities, or the feeling of community that comes from such association: a fellowship of scholars, the fellowship of the church.

In academic contexts, a fellowship is a funded position for advanced study or research, often more prestigious than a scholarship: She was awarded a fellowship at Harvard.

Medical fellowships are specialized training periods after residency.
