feathergrass

Wispy ornamental grass

Feathergrass is any of several ornamental grasses with feathery, plume-like seed heads that wave gracefully in wind.

Native to steppes and prairies, these perennial grasses are valued in landscaping for their soft, silvery appearance: The feathergrass caught the afternoon light beautifully.

Also called needle grass or stipa.
