State of obesity
Fatness is the quality or state of being fat—having substantial body fat or flesh.
The word applies literally to bodies: The fatness of the pig indicated it was ready for market.
It extends to anything with unusual thickness or abundance: the fatness of a wallet, the fatness of profits.
Unlike the more clinical "obesity," fatness carries older, sometimes positive associations with prosperity and plenty.
