fan boat
Propeller-driven flat vessel
A fan boat is a flat-bottomed vessel propelled by a large aircraft-type propeller mounted above the stern, powered by an engine.
The design allows navigation through shallow waters, marshes, and swamps where conventional propellers would snag on vegetation or bottom out.
Fan boats are common in the Florida Everglades for tours and wildlife management.
Also called airboat.
