endoplasm
Cell's central fluid
Endoplasm is the inner, more fluid portion of a cell's cytoplasm, as distinguished from the denser outer layer (ectoplasm).
The term appears mainly in descriptions of single-celled organisms like amoebas, where the distinction between inner and outer cytoplasm is visible and functionally significant.
