An elliptical trainer is a stationary exercise machine that simulates walking or running while reducing impact on the joints.
The user stands on two pedals that move in an elongated oval—an ellipse—while gripping handles that move back and forth.
Also called an elliptical or cross-trainer: I did thirty minutes on the elliptical.
