election precincts
Local polling zones
Election precincts are the smallest geographic units used to organize voting in the United States.
Each precinct contains a single polling place where registered voters in that area cast ballots.
Precincts are also the basic unit for reporting election results: The candidate won 60% of precincts in the county.
Precinct boundaries are drawn by local election officials and may change between elections.
