ear loop
Hooks behind auricle
An ear loop is the elastic band or cord attached to a face mask that hooks around the ear to hold the mask in place.
The term became ubiquitous during the COVID-19 pandemic: These masks have adjustable ear loops.
Ear loops also appear on surgical masks and dust masks used in medical and industrial settings.
