earmold
Custom ear insert
An earmold is a custom-fitted piece, usually made of silicone or acrylic, that sits in the outer ear to hold a hearing aid in place or deliver sound directly into the ear canal.
Earmolds are shaped from impressions taken of an individual's ear, ensuring a snug fit that prevents feedback and improves sound quality.
Musicians and others who need hearing protection also use earmolds fitted with filters to reduce volume without distorting sound.
