dystopic
Oppressively imagined future
Dystopic describes something characteristic of a dystopia—an imagined society marked by oppression, suffering, or decay.
The word applies to fiction, settings, or real-world conditions resembling such nightmares: a dystopic vision of the future, The abandoned factory had a dystopic feel.
Dystopian is more common, but dystopic functions identically.
